The ingredients for successful family vacations include fun, joy and memories. Great family vacations do not have to be work. After all, you have taken time off from work; the kids are out of school, so let’s have fun.
Family vacations should be relaxing, educational and full of joy. (Do not over educate the kids, they will be back in school soon enough.)
As grown-ups, allow yourself to have fun too. Participate in the activities, such as giving the kids a laugh while you learn to dance the hula, go hip-hopping, water skiing and snorkeling. These are some of the activities the kids will love to talk about long after vacation is over.
What for dinner? Remember you are on vacation and healthy meals are always best for us, especially if you’re driving a lot to be focused for the drive, but be adventurous; try junks food or the native cuisine.
Where are we going and when are we going to get there? Remember the family vacation is not just for the grown-ups or just for the kids so select a destination that is fun for all.
Plan your family vacation in advance, get the involved. One you’ve selected a destination, start your research. Collect brochures, book and search the internet. Select a hotel or resort that meets your family requirements full or half kitchen, king or twin beds and others. Check out the hotel or resort on-site amenities, such as swimming pool, tennis court, game room and children’s playground. Look for activities and attractions that are
near-by your hotel or resort.
